Rijnhaven: From Vibrant Harbor to City Beach

During this walk, we reflect on the changes in the Rijnhaven. Come along and discover how this area is transforming from a port zone into a vibrant mix of residential, commercial, recreational, and cultural spaces. For a long time, Rijnhaven was one of the busiest harbors in the city. This industrial heritage is still present in Katendrecht with landmarks like the Latenstein flour mill and the Fenix warehouses. At the same time, a new skyline has risen on the Wilhelminapier, and the Rijnhaven is evolving into a city beach with floating parks and new housing projects like Bay House and Fenix I.
