Classics by Night: Van Nelle

Expect the unexpected during a special evening tour of the Van Nelle Factory: Europe’s first ‘daylight factory’, where light, air, and space were key design elements. Architects Brinkman and Van der Vlugt designed this revolutionary factory complex, with gigantic glass facade, in 1931 along the Schie River. During the evening, when the illuminated advertisements on the building light up, the factory changes shape. An architectural guide takes you along the highlights of the factory’s history and, of course, the top floor, with its magnificent view of Rotterdam’s skyline. Along the way, you will be accompanied by performances by Giuseppe Doronzo.
